It is all about the attribute colors - look at strength and accuracy - those are the most important stats in the game.
Don't worry about stars/colors of clubs - look at the attributes. White (lowest)/Green/Blue/Purple/Orange (highest) is the ranking - find clubs with higher ranking accuracy attributes than strength attributes to control gauge speed.
Also, get them evolved to 6 stars and fill the fittings for maximum performance (limitless will boost these attributes).
Finally, set up all clubs (other than putter) with 4 B components + 2 F components, and have at least 2 of the 3 available % main comps (groove/grip/shaft) to be 5* components and have strength % as the main component attribute - get them all to level 15.
I can reach fairways on Asan black with a trainer (lowest) driver with my comp setup if it is 6 star evolved.
